  • Exhibitions in UK: WE products sold in the UK at the below exhibitions in November and December 2008:

  • Weinc exhibitions: On 28 November 2008, a volunteer group of Japanese women Weinc participated in the International Christmas Charity Bazaar, the largest international charity event in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Weinc sold a range of MDSF bags, which were very popular and in great demand. In particular, "Bibi for We" Universe bags and silk-made fashion bags were almost completely sold out.

    • In September, 2008 a consultant from Weinc worked MDSF to help the group to improve their production skills, product quality, and refine product design
  • The NGOs and Stores in Cambodia now carrying MDSF products (colors of cambodia, friends, etc.) MDSF silk and sarong bags and wallets are now available at Friends Handicraft Shop and Colors of Cambodia in Phnom Penh.
  • Bibi's visit: In August and September, 2008 UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador Ms Bibi Russell conducted a five day visit to the Modern Dress Sewing Factory. Ms. Russell worked with the group to design and launch an international designer label entitled "Bibi for WE" (Women's Empowerment).
  • WE Shop at SLC: Social Light Communications has launched a WE Shop carrying products made by women living with HIV and marginalized populations throughout India. The objective of the WE Shop is to generate sustainable income for women living with HIV/AIDS as producers and vendors. The shop in Chennai, displayed at the SLC office, is managed and coordinated by women living with HIV/AIDS. Additionally, the shop is available as a mobile display for exhibitions and events.   • SLC's support in Villupuram and modern saree shop: Social Light Communications is working with seven support groups for women living with HIV/AIDS in Villupuram, Tamil Nadu to initiate small businesses through the replication of PDA's Positive Partnership Project.
  • Promotion at UN Gift Shop in BKK: To Celebrate Christmas 2008 and New Year 2009, the UN Souvenir Shop in Bangkok is offering a 20% discount on all items from 17 November, 2008 through 15 January, 2009
