Women Empowered through International Cooperation


Weinc (Women Empowered through International Cooperation; pronounced as "wink") was a group of volunteer Japanese women who came together to take action to support women living with HIV and advocate for HIV prevention. Weinc provided a range of support from test marketing of products, customer surveys, development of new products,expanding support networks, along with moral support and encouragement.


Seimi Wangsai, Owner of Tragoon in Yokohama, Japan

Mr. Seimi Wangsai is a skilled apparel designer and the owner of Tragoon, a high-end fair trade store in Yokohama. Mr. Wangsai sells a range of MDSF products at Tragoon but also provides several forms of support to MDSF. Mr. Wangsai provides technical training on garment production, quality control, business management, and marketing. In addition, he contracts MDSF to produce his designs that are particularly targeted to the Japanese market, and continues to provide an important link for the marketing of WE products in Japan. Mr. Wangsai provides technical assistance on-site in Cambodia at regular intervals and maintains consistent communication with the MDSF staff between his visits.

The Singapore International Foundation, Singapore

The Singapore International Foundation is a non-profit organisation founded in 1991. The SIF aims to build a better world through shared ideas, skills and experiences, so as to uplift lives and create greater understanding between Singaporeans and world communities. In recognition of its work, the SIF was presented the Excellence for Singapore Award. Through the Singapore International Volunteers (SIV) programme, the SIF has provided a range of support to the businesses through trainings given by highly skilled personnel. The SIV programme was founded on the idea that shared skills and experiences can empower countries, communities and improve the lives of individuals. The WWP businesses have benefited greatly from trainings ranging from production and design with MDSF to process and quality control with SLC.

Catalyst Management Services (CMS) is Catalyst Management Services (CMS) is part of Catalyst Group; a passionate development support organisation working in social development since 1994.
